Senior trade officials from Mexico, Canada, and the United States will be meeting soon for a long discussion on the fate of NAFTA. Ildefonso Guajardo, Economic Minister of Mexico, said that after seven months of debates and discussions, the three countries have entered a concentrated phase. He also said that because of the continuous discussions, his negotiating team is practically living in Washington. Al Hawkins, Canadian Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, attended the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador regional meeting on April 20, 2018, where he talked about ways to attract immigrants to the Atlantic province. The United Kingdom is putting its future at risk by keeping away foreign entrepreneurs because of its slow and lax visa processing. The UK Parliament has been intimidated that if they want to keep up with the pace at which countries like Canada, Australia, Germany, and the United States are moving, they need to reform their visa system so that more foreign entrepreneurs feel welcomed in the country. Russia and Turkey Plan to Ease Visa…

Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, recently met Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister to discuss lifting visa requirements. It also includes visa-free travel for long distance drivers to enhance international relations between the two countries. Lavrov said that Russia had suggested visa-free travel between the two countries a while ago for service passport holders and long distance travelers involved in international transport operations. His Turkish counterpart has promised to come up with a response to the proposal soon. During his visit for the inauguration of Thailand Week, Tofail Ahmed, Commerce Minister of Bangladesh, requested the Thai government to relax visa rules for Bangladeshis because they are too complicated. Kosovo Wants Visa Liberation from European Union

For a country to make European Union sign a visa liberation agreement, they need to fulfill 74 conditions put forth by the Commission. Being able to travel to Schengen Europe is nothing less than a proud moment for any country and Kosovo is ready to do anything for it. The country recently gave green signal to a border demarcation deal with Montenegro. Kosovo lawmakers voted 80 – 11, and therefore the deal was signed despite the meeting being disturbed by tear gas attacks in the parliament. Well, you have a choice between four Nordic countries that are the happiest in the world. Even though Europe’s northern region is freezing cold, the countries made it to the top of the world. Finland jumped a position to become the happiest country in the world, followed by Norway at second, Denmark in the third position, and Switzerland ranked fourth. Nationals from more than 156 countries were assessed as a part of the Gallup World Poll. Belarusian Can Travel Cheaper to EU Now

All countries outside the European Union need to pay a visa fee of 60 euros for traveling to Schengen countries. But Belarusian passport holders might have only to pay a visa processing fee of 35 euros, thanks to the agreement that will be signed between Belarus and the European Union Commission. This agreement allows Belarus citizens able to travel to EU with less visa processing charges. EU Delegation confirmed that if visa processing fees are increased for other countries including India, Russia, and Armenia, processing fees for Belarus won’t change, but only if the agreement comes through. Omani Government Announces Visa-on-arrival

The Omani government announced about its visa-on-arrival last week and is already getting criticized. The new visa regime will be official March 21 onward allowing 68 countries to travel to Oman on visa-on-arrival basis. Visa applications will not be collected at the visa service desks but apply for it online before boarding the plane and get your visa after arrival. Oman did this to handle traffic, especially during the peak season so that there isn’t a crowd waiting for several minutes to get their visa at the visa service desks.
