Pakistan Focusing on Tourism by Revising Visa Policies

The government of Pakistan has finally realized the importance of having a healthy tourism industry. The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation will soon be reviewing the country’s visa policy to attract more foreign travelers. The concerned department is already approached, and talks finalized about how to change the policy. Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, Managing Director, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, said that they will mainly focus on Pakistanis living in abroad countries and foreign tourists in 2018.

The Civil Aviation Authority is requested to give the information about international airports where the department can set up more Tourism Information Desks to guide tourists who visit in the year 2018. The department is also going to employ Focal Persons in Pakistan’s bigger cities and Coordinators for Tourism in all countries where Pakistan has its embassy or consulate to increase foreign tourists.

The department is also going to set up hoarding in all major cities of the country including Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad. A British company ranked Pakistan genuinely as the best adventure country to travel in the world, which then motivated Pakistan to improve its visa system. In the last five years, international tourism has increased by three times as there have been lesser terrorist attacks. Presence of terrorism in Pakistan has always stopped people from visiting the country and it is a huge drawback.

Positive word of mouth

Tourists who’ve visited Pakistan have spread the positive word about how Pakistan has progressed in the recent years. Pakistan is the home to some of the most beautiful Mughal architecture including Badshahi Mosque, Sheesh Mahal, Lahore Fort, and Shalimar Gardens. It is most famous for the ruins of Mohenjo-Daro, one of the oldest civilizations in history. It is a paradise for foodies as well. You can eat delicious kebabs and biryani’s which will linger your taste buds forever.
